For the past four months now, the Board of Directors of Divine Harmony Spiritualist Church and our Pastor, Rev. Kelly M. Ballard, have had conversations about the vitality of our church and our future. After careful thought, prayer, intense conversations, and continued efforts to ask for help, our Board has made the difficult decision to close the church after February's service.
After looking at dwindling attendance, lack of volunteers, and financial concerns, where our monthly income does not meet our monthly expenses, we needed to take a realistic look at our future as a business, as well as a church. Obviously, this was never the outcome we wanted, but after months of discussion and analysis of attendance, finances, and alternatives, this was determined to be the best business decision. It takes so much time and energy to put on one of our services, and we just do not have the volunteers to help that happen at each service. We are very sad this has come to pass, as it was an emotional decision for everyone involved.
Our Pastor, Rev. Kelly Ballard will still be available (privately) to assist with any pastoral needs of weddings, funerals, or christenings as well.
We are beyond grateful for everyone who has helped to make DHSC thrive for just over two and a half years. We truly feel honored that you allowed us to serve Spirit, with you.
